About the Terra String Quartet:
The Terra String Quartet, based in New York City, is a dynamic and youthful ensemble comprising prizewinners at the 2023 Melbourne and Osaka International Chamber Music Competitions. These distinguished musicians are graduates of some of the world’s leading music institutions, including The Juilliard School, The New England Conservatory, Harvard University, and the Curtis Institute of Music.
Known for their remarkable maturity, superb ensemble playing, and unique artistic individuality, the Terra String Quartet has performed at prestigious venues and festivals around the globe, including Guarneri Hall, Chamber Music Raleigh, and the Emilia-Romagna Festival in Italy. The ensemble is deeply committed to community engagement and education, serving as the 2023-2024 Project Music Heals Us Arts Leadership Ensemble and the inaugural Professional Fellowship Quartet of the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival at East Carolina University.
Meet the Musicians:
Harriet Langley, violin – A Korean-Australian violinist, Harriet has performed with numerous orchestras, including the London Chamber Orchestra and Vienna Chamber Orchestra. She is also a passionate chamber musician who enjoys reading, museum visits, and is enthusiastic about perfume and tea.
Amelia Dietrich, violin – Amelia, who holds degrees from The Colburn Conservatory and The Juilliard School, is dedicated to making classical music accessible to all. In her spare time, she enjoys running, cooking, and exploring fashion and interior design.
Chih-Ta Chen, viola – Chih-Ta, from Taiwan, is a winner of several prestigious awards and has performed at numerous chamber music festivals. He enjoys playing badminton and spending time with his cat, Cheetah.
Audrey Chen, cello – A Washington state native, Audrey has performed with the Seattle Symphony and is currently a doctoral candidate at the CUNY Graduate Center. Her hobbies include watching films, cooking, baking, and making greeting cards.
About Ara Gregorian:
Violinist and violist Ara Gregorian is recognized for his electrifying performances and innovative musical approach. A sought-after performer and educator, Gregorian is the founder and artistic director of the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival in North Carolina, now in its 20th Anniversary Season. He has performed in prestigious venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and Alice Tully Hall. An active and dedicated teacher, Gregorian holds the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival Distinguished Professorship in Music at East Carolina University.
